We know we just sent an Email out to you all yesterday, but information about the COVID-19 virus continues to change quickly. Based on the latest recommendations, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close Artemis to protect those most vulnerable in our community.
Many area gyms and facilities have already closed their doors and it is time for us to do the same. We do this with respect for the science that clearly shows us how to #Flattenthecurve and the hope that if everyone does their part we can slow the spread of the virus. We will close our doors at the end of business today, Tuesday, March 17th through March 31st. We will continue to review the recommendations from the VT Dept. of Health and CDC and will communicate with you if the date for opening needs to change.
We want you all to continue to workout and will be providing additional at-home workouts soon. If you workout, please feel free to keep track of your workouts and let us know and we can add the workouts to the Frequent Sweater list. You already know that exercise is a great way to work off extra stress, and we can all use that these days!
Similar to other locally owned small businesses, our margins are small and our overhead obligations continue amidst this crisis. We fully recognize that paying membership fees when you are not able to come and use our gym is not reasonable for the long term. We will continue to provide videos and workouts to do from home, but will assess how to handle membership fees if the crisis continues into April. Thank you all for supporting our small, locally-owned women business! It is greatly appreciated.
We thank the many of you who have already reached out and shared that you are practicing social distancing, and we thank you all for your understanding about this decision as we try to navigate during this uncertain time. We value and appreciate all of you who make up our special Artemis community.
Yours in health,
Cate & Kendra
